About Coach J
The Journey
I was deemed “undersized” by my head coach in high school. I finished my junior and senior year of high school with one catch and one touchdown for 34 yards. I was devastated. I didn’t get an opportunity at the game I loved. I had no clue where to turn or where to start but I knew I would find a way to the collegiate level.
just two years later, I found myself at a junior college. I played there one year prior to transferring to a division II college at Southwest Minnesota State University where I played for 3 years. Again, my coach didn’t see me. For the second time in my career, I didn’t know where to turn, who to go to, or how to navigate my circumstances. I needed support and didn’t know where to find it.
Two years later, I was invited to tryout for a semi-pro team. I felt skeptical playing in a league I thought was specifically for low caliber talent. I was wrong. Talents in the league ranged from former NFL players, CFL players, professional arena players, and division I, II, and III athletes. After winning a league championship at the end of my second year, I was reached out to by several professional arena teams who attended the game and a Minnesota Vikings regional scout who invited me to participate in the 2020 regional combine. the combine was cancelled due to the covid outbreak.
Later in 2020, my mental health tanked. I wanted change, I needed change. I became desperate to advance my state of mind and emotional wellbeing. I grew tired of allowing circumstances outside of myself to best me. This made me reflect on my journey. I remembered all the times I wanted and needed support. I valued so much of what I didn’t have. Someone to give me direction. A guide. A ‘big brother’. I found my purpose - I would be that bridge.
In 2024, I was announced a top 13 defensive back in the nation. In 2025, I signed my first professional football contract. This was only possible because of the advancement of my mindset.
I learned the importance of self. I found the importance of becoming ‘someone’ before you are ‘something.’ I have reached untapped potential on and off the field, embodied a different level of confidence, reestablished my goals and values, and have landed in my calling. I discovered who you are mentally, you become. only then do you show up as everything.
Field Awareness
I became a certified mental strength coach in 2024 and have worked as a coach since 2021. I work with professionals who seek to be the very best at what they do by working together to find out who you are and who you want to be. I then help you reach untapped levels of confidence and performance through personalized development.
If you are willing to put in the work and accept the internal challenge of discovering self and redefining your goals and values - becoming an elite level athlete and person is available to you.
Being elite is an exclusive club. Not everyone is willing to put in the work. the difference between the elite and everybody else is the mind. This is how mental strength coaching advances and separates you. If you are willing to be comfortable being uncomfortable, accept accountability for yourself, and be vulnerable in your deep truths then mental strength coaching is right for you.
My Mission:
I am 100% committed and focused on advancing athletes to their highest level of performance on and off the field by finding out who they are and who they want to be. There is nothing more rewarding for me than putting people first and bridging the gap between you and achieving your goals. Before you can be something, you must become someone—and I will take you there.
